The Cottage at Glen Keen is situated on the Carrowniskey river at the mouth of the Delphi valley with spectacular views of Clare Island and the Shaffery/Mweelera Mountain range. This is the gateway to Connemara and provides an excellent base for touring the Western region, Holiday makers can avail of the natural beauty, serenity and total tranquil setting ‘a writers paradise’.
The Village of Glen Keen comprised of 42 houses pre-famine, now there are just four houses remaining. However, the concrete imagery of historic times exists in the ruins today. The Cottage at Glen Keen, built in 1964 and refurbished in 2008 to modern day standards is situated on a large working sheep farm that comprises of the village of Glen Keen.
